Safety on Knotvia
Last updated: 21 October 2026
Our side of the promise
- Moderation: reports are reviewed by an admin team; content flagged by our filters is held for review before it spreads.
- Report anything: every post and profile has a Report option with clear categories — spam, harassment, hate speech, violence, sexual content, scams and more.
- Blocking: block any member and they cannot message you, see your posts or interact with you — in both directions.
- Privacy controls: private accounts, per-post audiences (Public / Knots only / Only me), and private Circles with join approval.
- Account security: hashed passwords, login lockouts after repeated failures, a login history you can review, and "log out other devices" in Settings.
Your side of the promise
- Use a strong, unique password and never share verification codes — Knotvia staff will never ask for them.
- Think before sharing personal details like your address, school or daily routine, especially in public posts.
- Be careful with money: never send payments to people you met online who pressure you, and report scams.
- If someone makes you uncomfortable, block them and report — do not engage.
- Parents: Knotvia is 13+, and we encourage families to talk about healthy online habits.
Emergencies
If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first, then report the content to us so we can help preserve information where the law requires.
Appeals
If you believe a moderation decision about your account was a mistake, contact us with the "Ban appeal" topic on the Contact & Support page.
